Cane Crushers and Mill Tandems are used in the cane crushing process, which involves feeding of cane between set of rollers to facilitate crushing and extraction of juice for further processing. The process involves cane stalks being fed to main cane carrier from where it passes through series of cane cutters for chopping and fiberizing cane (into fine fibers) and dropping the fibers on to the belt conveyors to feed into the first mill. The bagasse fiber generated from the first mill is thereafter carried to further mills through rake type inter carriers positions between the mills. 

Mill Roller Design Features:

• Crusher Mill offered in different configurations depending upon a number of rollers.
• Rollers made of hard course grain cast iron shells that are shrunk fitted on forged alloy steel shaft with square ends.
• Rollers provided with circumferential v-grooving to achieve effective & continuous crushing action.
• Each roller fitted with cast steel crown pinion for achieving transmission of power from gear reducer.

Head Stock, Top/Side Caps:

• Head stock of king boltless type design and comes fabricated from tested mild steel IS 2062 plates in stress relieved finish
• Top and side caps of cast steel as per graded IS: 1030 casting

Mill Hydraulic System:

• Each mill provided with a hydraulic system comprising hydro pneumatic accumulators (one for each journal of top rollers).
• Hydraulic system suitably designed for sufficient working oil pressure.
• One forced feed oil lubricator for each mill provided for achieving proper distribution of lubricant at necessary locations

Mill Drive:

• Mill drive directly coupled through flexible gear coupling to planetary gear reducer that allows transmitting continuous power under shock load conditions.
• Suitable bed plates provided in sections & mild steel guards for enclosing open opinions.
• Mill top roller connected to transmission pinion shaft.

Cane crusher mills find use in -

• Extraction of juice from cane through employing stage wise crushing action using series of suitably designed grooved rollers in crushing mill.
